EFCU's Credit Building Tools:

Foundation Credit Cards

This low-limit starter card provides a manageable spending ceiling designed to help you build a positive payment history without the risk of overextension. To strengthen your application, six months of steady employment is recommended. This card rewards your job stability by reporting your usage directly to the credit bureaus.

Secured Credit Cards

A share-secured credit card allows you to establish a credit line by providing an upfront security deposit that acts as your spending limit and collateral. By using the card for small purchases and paying the balance in full each month, you demonstrate responsible credit habits that are reported to the bureaus to help increase your score.

Share Secured Loans

A share-secured loan allows you to build credit by borrowing against your own savings, using your deposit as collateral to ensure a lower interest rate and guaranteed approval. As you pay back the loan, your funds stay in your account earning dividends while your payments are reported to credit bureaus.

Credit Builder Micro-Loans

This is a manageable, short-term solution for individuals looking to establish or strengthen their credit profile through small, predictable installments. By reporting your consistent, on-time payments to major credit bureaus, this loan serves as a practical steppingstone toward a higher score and greater financial flexibility.
